Research lines

CIMA has selected four fields of research related to heart, brain, cancer and the liver. These areas of specialization have been chosen on the basis of their importance to health care, their social repercussions, and the experience and research tradition inherent to the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy and Science, and the University Clinic Hospital. Each of these four areas in turn comprise a series of priority disciplines:

• Cardiovascular physiopathology: hypertension, atherosclerosis and diabetes, thrombosis and hemostasia.
• Oncology: carcinogenesis, cell therapy and immunotherapy.
• Neuroscience: Parkinson and Alzheimer’s disease.
• Gene therapy and hepatology: gene therapy.
